RAF Halton House Wedding – Jemma & Pete
Another visit to the beautiful Ex-Rothschilds RAF Halton House Officers Mess
RAF Halton House Wedding – Jemma & Pete: Meeting Jemma and Pete in person for the first time at their pre-wedding shoot in Walthamstow, I quickly learned that they like to have so much fun and love reading. I was told in advance that their would be a book theme at the wedding with loads of hand made decorations fitting for the Autumn Season. Walking round RAF Halton House before I went up to meet Jemma and her bridesmaids, I could see how amazing the decorations were. I also had a moment to introduce myself to Jemma’s father, a serving high ranking officer within the RAF.
Jemma was having loads of fun upstairs, with the hair and makeup ladies working hard to have everyone ready on time. Other than the wedding flower supplier, it looked like I was the only local supplier so I made my introductions to everyone, including Pete of Lawson Films who travelled all the way from Manchester. As we got closer to wedding hour which included a run downstairs to Pete (the groom) to capture a few portraits of him and his groomsmen, the excitement was building!
The ceremony was a little different than usual, with a Chaplain from a local RAF base conducting the ceremony, she was so much fun and I wished secretly that every single vicar in the world ever could be this much fun and enjoy themselves this much at a wedding. The ceremony culminated in a sing song by everyone, we then organised everyone out the front of Halton House for a set of group shots and a quick set of newly-wed portraits before the wedding breakfast.
Speeches followed the meal, which had the expected Father of the Bride, Groom, Best Man, but also had the Maid of Honour and Jemma herself thanking everyone for coming and helping them celebrate this amazing day. Somehow a set of twin tequila shots were introduced into the Maid of Honours speech, I’m not sure of the ingredients, but definitely somewhere tequila was involved and something about holding your breath in between knocking back the two glasses.
With another quick set of portraits just as the light was fading, Jemma and Pete committed themselves to spending time with their guests and to get ready for their first dance, following which the party started properly and what an amazing party evening this was.
Photographing this wedding for Jemma & Pete at the Officers Mess at RAF Halton House, with the ceremony and the celebration all at this amazing venue, I’m so glad they chose me to be their wedding photographer to provide them with these happy memories.
If you enjoyed reading this blog and you are planning your own wedding day at RAF Halton House or anywhere else in the country (or abroad), I would love to hear from you!
