Dorton House Wedding – Claire & Jamie
The stunning Dorton House outdoor wedding of Claire & Jamie blessed with such amazing weather
Dorton House Wedding – Claire & Jamie: I met Jamie a few years ago when I was asked to cover at extremely short notice the evening part of a wedding at Dorton House. Jamie runs the weddings here and that was my first experience of this beautiful wedding venue. I got to know Jamie very well having had the pleasure to visit a few more times to photograph weddings and was extremely happy to become a preferred supplier, but last year was completely taken aback when Jamie asked me to be the photographer for his own wedding to the beautiful Claire.
Claire and Jamie were pulling out all the stops and wanted to showcase the best wedding ever at Dorton House, with a massive guest list, outdoor wedding ceremony and a marquee to house everyone, it sounded absolutely fabulous. I also learned that Jamie was using a few members of the Bucks Wedding Team, being myself, Sue from The Flowers Wedding Specialist and Emma from Elliepress (awesome custom stationary). We also had a caricaturist and Paul Megram the amazing close-up magician, also to help entertain their was live background music all day and a full on band for the evening. Due to the large aspect of the wedding Jamie took my advice to include a second photographer and I asked Chris (top job as always dude) with me to ensure we captured the super busy day.
I met Claire that morning with her bride squad (and her Mum), all having such a laugh with a mixture of champagne and cups of tea helping them get ready for W-hour. Jamie was having a sort of chilled out time, but by the nature of his epic organisational skills I think he was just making sure everything was just right for his own wedding day.
With the weather playing ball we were all set for the outdoor ceremony and Jamie was waiting nervously at the altar. Claire made her way round the house to walk up the outdoor aisle with Jamie’s face saying it all when he saw her. It was so awesome seeing this amazing couple becoming husband and wife! Following a beautiful outdoor service, all the guests made their way through the house to form a massive confetti line which just seemed to go on forever with Claire and Jamie getting absolutely plastered in confetti. We completed a set of fun formal group shots and then it was time to move everyone round to the Walled Garden to the marquee to celebrate this day.
Claire and Jamie met whilst skiing, so the Marquee had a ski theme with the help of props and games reliving these times and the detailed wedding stationary provided by Emma of Elliepress really set this all off. We were blessed with stunning weather for the evening which also allowed us to complete an extra set of beautiful portraits of the happy couple, with an extra 100 or so guests joining in for the evening party. Such an amazing day from beginning to end.
Photographing this wedding for Claire and Jamie, I’m so glad they chose me to be their wedding photographer to provide them with these happy memories.
If you enjoyed reading this blog and you are planning your own wedding day at Dorton House or anywhere else in the country (or abroad), I would love to hear from you!
