Wild Ivy Retreats Wedding – Kate & Christian
Perfect setting for an intimate wedding at Wild Ivy Retreats
Wild Ivy Retreats Wedding – Kate & Christian. Some blogs write themselves, or at least when I think about the day, taking in all the amazing little things that happen and all the amazing BIG things that have happened, the words in to the blog just flow. This is one of those wedding days.
I photographed Kate & Christian’s forever day in Spring 2021 when Christian surprised Kate with a unique romantic afternoon tea, on the day that should have been their planned wedding day. Additionally we completed a pre-wedding shoot. Also I photographed Kate’s sisters wedding a few years back. To be back in amongst the family and photographing finally their actual wedding day, words cannot express how blessed I feel.
The day consisted of a little bit of groom prep, then a little bit of bride prep, then the wedding itself at the stunning St Peter & Pauls Church in Wingrave. The newlyweds elected to ride on a motorbike to their celebration, being held at the Wild Ivy Retreats just a few miles down the road. The day was already absolutely brilliant up to this point, but seeing how Caroline and Rosie at Wild Ivy Retreats stunningly nurture and decorate the natural garden, combined with Kate & Christians decor for their wedding, it was absolutely jaw dropping. And the weather was perfect for this relaxed garden party wedding celebration of an afternoon.
We had casual beautiful music, the wedding breakfast was served at the set table among the apple trees, speeches were outdoors with everyone sat on hay bales. Christian looked for every chance to ride his motorbike, even using it to go to the bathroom as it was a 2 minute walk down the lane (and why not?). And the first dance was held in a special area where the couple pinned photos of all their friends and family who were not there, so they would feel surrounded by loved ones at the end of their wedding day.
An amazingly brilliant day from start to finish.
Kate & Christian, I loved your wedding day and it was so much fun being your wedding photographer, I’m so glad you chose me for your day. Thank you also for looking after with me drinks and snacks and the amazing venue meal, it all helps me concentrate on the important task of taking photographs on your wedding day. Congratulations guys!
Special shout out to Jess (Kate’s sis!) for making their wedding cake. Looked fab and tasted great as always. Website can be found here – Jessica’s Cakes
