Grovesfield House Hotel Wedding – Julia & Darrel
A stunning day for the awesome wedding of Julia & Darrel at the beautiful Grovesfields House Hotel
Grovesfield House Hotel Wedding – Julia & Darrel: I remember during Darrel’s speech he mentioned that he first met Julia whilst working in a medical lab. I can’t remember his exact words, however he mentioned that the first time he saw her he commented how beautiful she was, possibly the word ‘babe’ was mentioned as well. Fast forward on a few years, they have a handsome little boy, Darrel is now in the army, and it is their wedding day!
Walking in to bride prep, it was great to bump in to Rebecca’s sister and have a quick catch up. I shot Rebecca and Tom’s wedding last year (link here if you fancy a look!) and I’m told a quick qualifying chat with them before Julia and Darrel booked with me took place, so thank you guys! Great to see Charlie from Charlie Pearcy MUA and Hair as well!
Normally I’m looking out for the cheeky bridesmaid (every wedding has one), however today it was the turn of Julia’s mum who always seems to either be walking around with an unopened bottle, an open bottle, or at least one glass of bubbly in her hand, sometimes a combination of all of that. I think Mum was set on enjoying her daughters wedding to the max!
As Darrel was getting ready at the Grovesfield House Hotel as well, it was easy for me to visit him and his groomsmen in between moments at bridal prep, whilst also popping down to the ceremony room to see how the general wedding prep was going. Despite some recent questionable weather, the sun was coming out to shine nicely in to the ceremony room, so when Julia and Darrel finally met at the altar, with tears all round, it was such a beautiful moment. Julia’s mum walked her down the aisle, such a proud time for mum and I could see it meant so much to both of them.
With enough time for some fun during the group shots and then plenty of time for some lovely Autumnal portraits, the couple walked in to their wedding breakfast to a thunderous round of applause. During the break I saw Gary from Bonkers Mobile Disco setting up. I’d known Gary for years, seeing him mainly at the gym and I knew he was resident at one hotel in the area and despite shooting weddings for a number of years never bumped in to him, so to finally see him here it was so awesome.
After a very touching first dance, the dance floor filled up and with some crazy groom carrying antics by his slightly (very) drunk army buddies, awesome bride and bridesmaid shapes, such a perfect end to such a brilliant wedding day.
What an amazing wedding day, I want to offer you guys a massive congratulations and thank you for choosing me as your wedding photographer. If you enjoyed reading this blog and you are planning your own wedding day at The Grovesfield House Hotel or anywhere else in the country (or abroad), I would love to hear from you!
