Danesfield House Wedding – Natasha & Izaak

A stunning October day for the wedding of Natasha & Izaak at Danesfield House
Danesfield House Wedding – Natasha & Izaak. I met Natasha and Izaak at the Danesfield House wedding show just over a year ago, and was so pleased they booked me as their wedding photographer, such a lovely nice couple. As we were swapping messages getting ever closer to their big day, one thing that was clear about their wonderful wedding plans was that we needed to be organised, and behind the scenes to have a Plan B and possibly even a Plan C ready.
Prep was perfect at the stunning Danesfield House, a nice relaxed morning for both parties, then Izaak would leave with his groomsmen with Chris (2nd photographer) for a ‘stiffener’ in a London pub. Then I would leave with Natasha and her Mother, all to meet at the jaw droppingly stunning Brompton Oratory located in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, for their wedding ceremony and mass. Following this everyone would then return to Danesfield House for the reception, wedding breakfast and evening celebrations.
We had it all planned to perfection, this included making sure we (photographers) were in the correct place at the correct time with the correct people, that we had the correct kit with us. And subtle details to make sure we could keep ourselves going with calories, hydrated, mini-breaks, etc.
However. And it was a big, HOWEVER!
At the time Izaak and the guests were arriving at the Brompton Oratory, a large protest was convening, and although it would move off before the ceremony started, it backed up all the traffic in to that area, which included Natasha’s car. But we made it on time. Just.
After the ceremony and about to head back, we were advised the M4 was closed outbound of London, a journey we were expecting to take about an hour, turned in to two plus. It was absolute bedlam on the roads.
The remaining daylight time we had allocated for portraits then groups promptly upon arrival at Danesfield, disappeared. Watching the sun set as we travelled back was, well, disheartening. But on route I was communicating with the wedding planner and with the 2nd photographer, whilst also talking to Natasha and Izaak; we had a plan. We arrived at Danesfield house just a few minutes after sunset, we immediately completed portraits with the remaining light and then once complete, leisurely worked with everyone for their group shot requests using lighting that took just a few minutes to setup. Job done!
I want to thank Natasha and Izaak for not only booking myself and a second photographer to photograph their wedding day, also for your confidence in us to adjust the photo schedule as the day panned out. We wanted to make sure we did our best despite anything that was thrown at us, and from your feedback both on the day and after, we did!
‘Thank you so much for the photos, we have just looked through them all (with a rhubarb G&T using the leftover wedding favours)! We absolutely love the photos, and you and Chris both did such a fantastic job across the whole day. Thank you as well for taking the time to edit and produce the photos for us, it truly is the best gallery we could have asked for!
We are so pleased to hear you both enjoyed the day, despite it being quite a challenging format and the exceptional circumstances of a road closure and a protest! Please could you say a huge thank you to Chris for his support and excellent photography on the day as well.
Thank you so much again to both you and Chris, the memories wouldn’t be the same without this fantastic selection of photos!’

Photographing weddings is all about capturing authentic, real moments throughout the day. I loved this wedding day as it was full of everyone just being themselves. No staging, no trends, just proper genuine fun. I am so glad you chose us for your day. And thank you also for looking after us with drinks and snacks and the amazing venue meal, it all helps us to concentrate on the important task of taking photographs on your wedding day. Congratulations guys!
