Being the key preferred wedding photography supplier for Notley Tythe Barn means I’ve photographed loads of weddings here and it’s always a brilliant venue for natural storytelling photography. Nestled in the Chiltern Hills on the Buckinghamshire–Oxfordshire border, Notley Tythe Barn is a stunning 12th-century barn wedding venue set within 500 acres of countryside. The whitewashed hall, gallery and surrounding fields create a relaxed and beautiful setting for couples who want a countryside wedding celebration.
Although I do receive lots of enquiries directly from the venue, this one came about a little differently. Around ten years ago, I photographed Sammy’s sister’s wedding, so when I was contacted again all these years later to photograph Sammy’s wedding to Simon, I was genuinely honoured. From bride prep through to the ceremony at the gorgeous church in Haddenham, it honestly felt like being transported back in time, seeing familiar faces again after a decade was pretty special.
My approach to wedding photography has always been about capturing real, authentic moments as they naturally unfold. Even during portrait time, I keep things relaxed, more of a gentle wander with Sammy & Simon with the occasional pause for photos, very little direction, and plenty of space for genuine moments to happen.
I absolutely loved being part of your wedding day and had such a brilliant time photographing it. I’m so glad you chose me to tell the story of your day. And thank you as well for keeping me fuelled with drinks, snacks, and that incredible venue meal (thanks Chef!), it all helps when the job is to stay focused on capturing everything properly.
