Hampden House Wedding – Jenny & Carl
A beautiful wedding day at the stunning Hampden House in Bucks
Hampden House Wedding – Jenny & Carl: From their pre-wedding shoot I knew that Jenny and Carl would have such a laugh on their big day. This is definitely one couple who just want to enjoy themselves as much as they can and getting to know the family and friends throughout the day everyone had the same desire!
Notably they had booked their wedding for 4th May (Star Wars Day), so I was interested to see how much Carl (a massive Star Wars fan) was to include during the day. As it was, a few minimal ‘tips of the hat’, with a notable mention at the end of his speech. Something about a Galaxy, far, far away?
I’d been to Hampden House a few times now and every time I’m just completely blown away as to how beautiful this place is and the high service levels from all the team. The house and grounds have been used in various TV programmes such as Midsommer Murders, so to be here today photographing this wedding in these stunning surroundings is a photographers dream. I met Jenny along with her parents and bridesmaids in the bridal suite, with its lush decor including a massive four poster bed.
Jenny seemed to interchange between fully calm to quite excited in nice little stages, reading the letter from Carl brought on a a few happy tears! Jenny when finally ready, looked stunning in her dress and coming out to get in the the beautiful classic car from Allerston Taylor & Regency Carriages, we were all set to meet Carl at St Dunstan’s Church in Monks Risborough.
St Dunstan’s church is absolutely stunning, which as I understand is the family church for Jenny so after a touching ceremony, we went back to Hampden House and the celebrations really started. Although we completed a set of photos at the church, Jenny and Carl had asked for a few extra formal shots mainly involving a few family member plus some of the bridesmaids and the groomsmen. Looking back through the set taken of the Groomsmen, I’m not quite sure what they were chatting about, even some of the standard shots which normally should look quite, um, normal, really just didn’t. Such a great group of friends and absolute photography gold for me!
The speeches included a set of photos being handed around of Carl in various states of dress (and undress). After the speeches and before the evening party lots of random stuff was happening all over the place, I heard that some guests were climbing random statues of horses, some were finding the most random things to take snaps of with the disposable cameras provided, and tours of the absolutely amazing and roomy ladies toilets (not just by ladies either). Generally everyone was just having loads of fun! I ended my day with Jenny and Carl having a sunset portrait walk across the fields, such an awesome end for such a brilliant wedding day!
With flowers by Sue of The Flowers Wedding Specialist, make up by Anne of Trilogy by Anne, a stunning dress by The Bridal House Buckinghamshire, and looking round the decorated house at the handcrafted stationary by Emma of Elliepress, combined with myself, it was clear that Jenny had seen the benefits of hiring in wedding professionals from the The Bucks Wedding Team! Joined also by Kady of Kady Eliza Video. All helping to make sure the wedding day went as smoothly as possible.
I want to offer Jenny and Carl a massive congratulations and thank you for choosing me as your wedding photographer. If you enjoyed reading this blog and you are planning your own wedding day at the stunning Hampden House or anywhere else in the country (or abroad), I would love to hear from you!
