Buckinghamshire DIY Wedding – Georgie & Nick
A stunning DIY wedding in the heart of Buckinghamshire
Buckinghamshire DIY Wedding – Georgie & Nick – Meeting Georgie & Nick at an Aylesbury Wedding Fair back in January 2020, I never ever would have imagined when they said they were to have a tipi wedding in their parents garden would it be this grand. Georgie’s family home has more extensive and beautiful gardens than most wedding venues, add in to that the high level of detail to make it all wedding ready for their sunny August day, wow, it turned out to be far far more amazing than I could ever imagine.
Bride prep started at the house, Georgie having loads of help from Carrie of CLJ London, expertly with her makeup and support getting those final little details ready. Chris my good friend and photography associate was looking after the groomsmen at the De Vere Latimer Hotel and we all met at the St Peter and Paul Church in Great Missenden for the wedding. This is such a beautiful church both inside and out, even though it is only 15 minutes from my doorstep, I’d never been here before, I hope to visit again soon. It was great to see Allerston Taylor Regency Carriages hired to look after the bridal party and later on to take the newly weds back to the house.
With the most mega confetti storm ever and a few group shots and portraits, we all headed back to the house to start the celebration. The Love Fizz Company were all set up to supply champagne for the day, also celebrating their own wedding anniversary that day which was brilliant. Speeches were laugh out loud all the way through and once completed the celebration really stepped up a notch, foozball, some crazy stuff going on with a polaroid camera, and finally the evening party with the band getting everyone up on the dance floor (even Grandad).
I want to make a special mention to Georgie’s Uncle, rocking the 35mm film Nikon FM2 with a Nikon 50mm lens (I have the very same combo). There is no skool like the old skool and I hope I get an opportunity to see what magic he created with that beaut!
I loved this day. I really did. Georgie & Nick, you created something special with this wedding. Of course a massive shout out also to the parents who I’m told have spent most of Spring and Summer prepping the gardens to be just right for the day. Guys, thank you so much for choosing me to be your photographer and congratulations!
If you enjoyed looking at these photos and you are planning your own wedding in Buckinghamshire or anywhere else in the country, I would love to hear from you!
