Leez Priory Wedding – Alex & Paul
Such an emotional day for this stunning couple at the unique Leez Priory Wedding Venue
Leez Priory Wedding – Alex & Paul: Having worked on countless movie productions, met on a movie set and both are also a massive fan of movies, I can see why Alex and Paul chose Leez Priory over many others for their wedding venue. When I first met them here for a walk round and chat about their day, it was described as being ‘castle-like’, a great setting for their movie themed wedding, in particular having a Harry Potter Hogswarts School look to it, and they weren’t wrong!
The day itself was a surprisingly awesome nice day for February, with hints of sunshine and a generally warmer feel than it should have been, this meant we could plan to spend some time in the grounds of Leez Priory taking a good set of portraits of the new bride and groom and also meant that the group shots could be completed with ease in the courtyard. Alex was superchilled during bridal prep, with Paul arriving in a Porsche seemingly a bit nervous, so to ease the pressure decided to do some comedy lunges in the bar, much to the amusement of the early arriving guests. Some of the props the couple had made for their wedding included a destination board with famous science fiction locations, with an ‘easter egg’ in one of name places, each guest was given a unique ‘piece of eight’ with their name and the wedding date on it, me included and I’m so chuffed with that lovely present guys that it has pride of place in my living room, thank you!
After experiencing an absolute overflow of emotion from both Alex and Paul at their service and then during the speeches, you could tell this day had so much meaning to them. Paul’s speech included a poem he had written for Alex, which started off ‘Roses are Red, Violets are Blue….’, I expected a bit of comedy however as he went through each verse he welled up, Alex welled up, the top table welled up, the rest of the room welled up and even myself and the wedding coordinator were struggling a little bit. This poem was written from the heart, so Paul, I take my hat off to you fella, a truly awesome speech!
A massive congratulations to you Alex and Paul (or PALEX as they like to be known). Thank you so much for choosing me as your wedding photographer and for looking after me with food and everything else on the day. Thank you also for your kind words!
‘Best wedding photographer ever! Highly professional, friendly and discreet all at the same time. I can’t recommend Marcus enough, all of our guests thought he was absolutely fantastic and I’ll be singing his praises for years to come.’
